Nursing, "Green Card" for Europe

Nursing is being seen as a profession of opportunity abroad. Over 3 thousand young people choose this study program every year with the sole purpose of leaving the country for a better life and work in one of the European countries. Even those who have just entered the faculties' auditoriums, their goals are clear, they will leave as soon as they receive their diploma. Mainly Germany is the country that is attracting qualified Albanian health workers by luring them with the standard of living there and several times higher salaries. Nearly 1500 nurses leave Albania every year to work in European hospitals. Despite the plan to increase salaries, the exodus of health workers does not stop.
