After failing to be the first country in Europe without plastic bags, Albania is in danger of losing the battle with the elimination of single-use ones. Almost a year after the entry into force of the law, produced illegally or smuggled in, they can be found in almost every stall selling mainly fruits and vegetables. Meanwhile, the institutions have discovered only eight abusive cases in over 9 months. And at a time when the "war" with bags is still without a winner, paradoxically the country is increasing its imports of plastic from abroad.
